A visit with Santa

We took Will and Caleb for a visit with Santa this week. The boys needed a chance to fill Santa in on their lists... Will of course is a pro at talking with Santa, Caleb on the other hand was a little tongue tied and mostly just tried to chew on Santa's beard.

the Ladyman's take Seattle...

We took a trip over the mountains last weekend. Will got a trip to Seattle and a pair of Seahawks tickets for his birthday last month. Mike, Will and I headed out Friday afternoon... Caleb spent a few quality days being spoiled by grandma. We stayed with Grandpa Charlie in Bellevue (thanks again grandpa...) Saturday we visited the Ballard locks and we were able to watch a few boats make the transfer from Lake Washington to the Puget Sound.

Next we headed into Seattle and walked along the waterfront and stopped to have lunch with the seagulls at Ivars

Then it was up the hill to Pike Street Market. We headed into the first and original Starbucks... or as I like to say we made the pilgrimage to Mecca...

We saw a few fish being thrown...

watched the sunset over the sound

and saw a giant shoe museum

Who doesn't love Pike Street?!?

Sunday was the main event... We still haven't decided who was more excited for the game, Mike or Will... here they are just outside of Qwest Field, getting ready to head inside

Will was really excited to meet Mack Strong a former Seahawk... he was at the stadium for a book signing

Here are a few more pics from inside the stadium

Sadly the Seahawks lost 20-17, Will was pretty bummed. He did say later that even though they lost the game it was very fun and it was his best birthday present ever.

All in all a fantastic weekend. We were happy to be home and see Caleb who is still being de-programmed after three days with grandma... updates to follow.

Ghosts and goblins and ninjas and frogs...

Will and Caleb went trick-or-treating friday night. We had a blast. For the first time in a long time the weather was great, no rain and it wasn't freezing out.
We met up with a few few of Will's friends from school and their parents.

Will and the boys made a record haul this year... Something that made the dads pretty happy too.

Proof..

I have been telling folks for a while now that Caleb has been standing up, but so far I have not been able to get proof...until now. I caught him today in his crib. I snuck in on him yesterday when he woke up from his nap. He is pretty proud of himself.

updates...

Will is all done with football... yeah! He misses it and it really was a lot of fun, but I am pretty excited to have our nights free of practices. We hardly know what to do with all the extra time. Probably TKD and getting ready for basketball to start soon. It is just non-stop. Will definitley has the most active and hectic social life of any 8yo I know.

Mike is working out of town again. He is at the US/Canada border, Grand Forks BC., I believe. He'll probably be working up there for another 5-6 weeks. It sucks for him to be out of town, but he comes home on Thursday nights, so the three day weekends are really nice.

Caleb has started to pull himself up onto anything that he thinks will stand still. We've had to lower the crib mattress a second time and nothing is safe if it even remotely within his reach. I'm still trying to get a picture of him but he usually falls and hurts himself while I'm getting the camera out... I hope some of the bruises go away before his dr appt this week... yikes :)
Will says that Caleb id like having a puppy, he just crawls around and follows us all over the house and we always have to stop and look for him to say Caleb don't eat that, and of course just like a puppy Caleb isn't house broken just yet...

Happy Birthday to Will!

Monday was Will's 8th birthday. Doesn't seem possible does it? We had a small party with a few friends at Comstock Park. It was a great day, sunny but a little chilly. It didn't seem to bother the boys any at all though. We grilled hotdogs for everyone and ate a Seahawks birthday cake. Will got 2 tickets to a Seahawks game next month. He told us later he was so excited when he opened them he thought he was going to pass out. Mike is going to take him over to Seattle for the weekend, a boys trip. Should be fun.

Titan Football

Titans vs Chargers last week... great game again, Titans won 6-0. Will had a few good tackles and a super run, I think it was about a 4 or 5 yard gain. To hear him tell it, it may as well have been 85.

If anyone wants to see more game pics, Pop Warner has a website set up with pictures from each game. The site is http://media254.zenfolio.com/ then you will follow the links to Pop Warner football and then to Mitey Mites the password to enter is spokanemm. All of the game pics are listed by week and teams. there are some really great shots. It's fun to look through.

Next game is Saturday Titans vs Chargers 3pm @ the Polo Fields. See you there

and so it begins...

Caleb has started to crawl... witness his path of destruction.

TKD Belt Test

Will had his last color belt test for tae kwon do last night. He earned his bodon belt, which id thelast belt before he tests for his black belt next spring. He did sooo great. He was a little nervous because he was the only one testing, so he was all by himself. No worries though, he was awesome!!!

He also had to break two boards, one with a punch and then a second with a spinning back kick. He broke them both on the first try!

Caleb updates

I haven't posted too many pictures of Caleb lately and he is feeling pretty left out. He has four teeth now, two on top and two on bottom, he eats just about anything you put in front of him and he is on the verge of crawling!!! (yikes...) He has developed the funniest personality the last few weeks, he is an absolute crack-up.

Football Saturday

Will had another football game last Saturday. Titans vs Hurricanes (the boys were calling then the 'girlicanes') titans won once again 20-7. Brings them to 3-0-1 on the season, not a bad start. Will played really well, he was in on a fumble recovery and he had a great tackle.

Next game is Sat the 27th 3pm at the Polo Fields. See you there

Shopping

Caleb and I took a little shopping trip to Target today. (t-shirt and a sweatshirt for Will, sweatshirt and new shoes for Caleb... in case you were wondering) Caleb had his first ride in the shopping cart. No baby carrier, just a big kid sitting in the cart...

GO TITANS!!

Sorry...

Sorry I haven't updated in soooo long. I've had several people upset, apparently the Ladyman family is quite entertaining. Who Knew?

Well we went for our annual camping trip to Painted Rocks in MT. So much fun. There were about 25-30 of us there at any given time. The trip was wonderful, great weather, tons of food and too much drink :). We all had a blast and can't wait until next year. Any and everyone has an open invitation to join us next year July 17-26, 2009. See you all there...

Will has started to play football. He is so excited, Mike too, Mom, not so much. I can't understand why I need to pay so much money to let other people hit him. I'd do that for free. He is pretty stinking cute though. He wears full pads and helmet. His team is the Titans... very tough bunch of 7 & 8 year olds. They really are funny to watch. they won their first game of the season today. they play through October, I'll post the schedule too so if anyone wants to come out and watch.

(he looks so tough doesn't he)

Labor day weekend we headed back to Montana for the Ravalli County Fair. I don't care if I ever see another corndog again... A good time though.

Will started 2nd grade this week... Doesn't seem possible! And to think he'll be 8 years old in another month. WOW!

At least I still have Caleb... who won't be so little for long. He is growing so fast, it's unreal. He has three teeth now, he loves cheerios and sweet potatoes and is just about to crawl... Our lives are over. I'll take another couple of pics and get them up of him, he is just too cute and is developing the funniest personality.

I promise... cross my heart to update more often from now on... stay tuned!

Happy Birthday Alicia!

Saturday was Alicia's birthday... the big 25! A quarter of a century!

We went to Wolf Lodge in Coeur d'Alene for dinner... of course Will and Caleb wore their handsome clothes. Such STUDS!!

YUMMY! thanks for having a birthday this year Alicia...

Caleb wants steak too... we told he has to wait until he gets a few teeth up top to match the two down below.
