Football Saturday

Will and the rest of the Hurricanes played in the Pop Warner football jamboree on Saturday. It was fun, they had 5 fields set up and each team played three 20 minute games. The'Canes are looking pretty tough this year. Well as tough as a bunch of scrawny 8 and 9 year olds can look.
It rained most of the morning, but cleared up just in time for the boys' first game. By the time they finished playing it was sunny and HOT!

of course Caleb had fun too...

Happy Anniversary

I know this post is a few says late but... ok well no good excuse, I'm just behind.

On Wednesday Mike and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Doesn't seem possible does it? Feels like it was only 7 and a half years ago :)

We actually celebrated last weekend. We had a super fun night out without any boys. A reeealllly yummy dinner at PF Changs, then a walk through the park. We found a street music concert going on Madelines in downtown. It was great, the band playing was really good, the weather was awesome for just sitting and listening. We ending up getting coffee there and sat for almost two hours, just hanging out. We stopped by Press on our way home, a really cute little coffee/martini bar on the lower South Hill. Honestly two of my all time favorite things, martinis and coffee.... it was awesome!!! (If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend the caramel machiatto martini... soooo good)

All in all it was a fantastic night spent together... here's to another eighty years!

Watch Out 3rd Grade... here we come!!

First day of school... so exciting, (at least it is for mom) Will was sort of ready to head back this morning. I think he was more excited to wear his new skate shoes... I've been making him wait to put those on.

Caleb on the other hand was wondering why in the heck he had to wake up at 8:20 in the morning... he's usually a 9:30 kind of guy

Aren't they cute... way too cool for school. Those 3rd grade girls better watch out

Will is Mrs. Avery's class this year. He was so excited. He has been wanting to be in her class since he was in Kindergarten. He thinks she is so cool. I have to say, we have heard some awesome things about her and I thnk he'll have a great year. Although she had big shoes to fill, after Mrs. Rolando last year. Will stopped in to give her a big hug this morning, he needed a Mrs. Rolando fix to start the year

Football Season

Why is it that as soon as football practice starts I feel like summer is over... YUCK!!
Anyway Will started practice a few weeks ago. He'll be playing for the Hurricanes this year. Lots of his buddies on the team and the head coach was also Will's coach for basketball, baseball and Hoopfest the last few years. I think this team will be a great fit for Will, he is already having a great time.
The Hurricanes are playing in a Jamboree this weekend. Each team will play 3 short games (20 minutes/game) It's on Saturday at Valley Christian School in the Valley (10212 E 9th Ave...click here for directions) If anyone wants to come out and watch, it is $5/per person to get into the field. The boys' game are scheduled for:

9:30 Hurricanes vs Colts - field 2

10:30 Hurricanes vs Steelers - field 4

11:30 Hurricanes vs Saxons - field 4

I believe that the regular season games will start the weekend after Labor Day, September 12, but I do not have a schedule yet. I'll be sure to post it as soon as I see it.

Family Picture

I haven't put up a full family picture in a while. We took this on Saturday night while we dropped the boys off at Grandmas house. Mike and I went to his 20 year class reunion... but that's a whole other posting :)
