Playing at the park

Just a quick stop by the playground on our walk home from the grocery store

All of that playing makes you REALLY thirsty...

!@#%$*# Elmo

So there I was just hanging out, watching Ellen, sipping my iced tea... when I heard the loud crash of glass shattering, pots banging and I saw Caleb running from the kitchen

I ran in to see what happened, this is what I found

I now know that Elmo can not be trusted alone in the kitchen

Painted Rocks '09!

Well we just made it back from our 4th annual Painted Rocks trip. We had such a great time, any more fun and it would have been illegal. The weather was great, hot and sunny everyday. The water was cold, as always. The friends just get better every year!!

We spent almost everyday just hanging in the water... water skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding, tubing and just having fun.

Every night was just as much fun, great dinners, lots of beer and some unrepeatable stories around the campfire. This year we added in a few theme nights. We had so much fun and the kids really got into them. We dressed up, decorated and laughed... a lot!
We had a luau... complete with pina coladas, daquiris and a limbo contest

There was a redneck night... lots of camo, some PBR and I think there may have been a shotgun

Luckily my camera batteries died before I could get pictures of 80's night :)

All in all I'd say this year was a HUGE success... We have decided to move the party next year. July 16-25th at Lake Roosevelt. Mark your calendars. Can't wait to see you all there

He is sooooo excited. I may not see him much for the next few days, he's already planning trips to the skatepark.

Fun Stuff

Nothing too big happening this week... Just some fun summer stuff. Our fabulous friend Mary has organized a weekly kick-ball game for all of our neighborhood kids. We meet every Tuesday morning at Jefferson. Mary brings the ball, we pick teams and its good times from there. this week, we ended up with almost 30 kids, from pre-K up to a few HS seniors. It was so much fun. The kids set up their own rules, pick teams and referee the games. It is so funny to watch kids just show up on bikes and skateboards and join a team. Every few innings they would stop and re-pick sides just to keep things even. If anyone every wants a good pick-up kickball game. We'll be there every Tuesday 10am, Jefferson Elementary

Caleb had a minor incident while he was playing kickball. He fell and slid across hte blacktop. He scraped up his forehead pretty good. Of course he has matching wounds on both knees, one elbow and a hand. It was a pretty good fall, and really funny too. It doesn't seem to bug him too much, I think he'll be fine.

Yesterday, the boys and I met up with our friends Robin, Abby and Will. We played at the South Hill water park. It was a super fun day. the weather was great, cooler than it has been, which was nice. The kids had so much fun, Abby and little will loved the lazy river. I think they would still be there if Robin hadn't taken them home. Will of course found a few other friends there to play with. Caleb tried out his life jacket for the first time, he was a little unsure about the whole bobbing in the water stuff, but he got into it after a while. I'll have to remember to get some pictures of him in the life jacket, it's too funny.

Here is Abby, Will, Caleb and Will, all catching some rays

I tried to get a picture of Will and Caleb, but Caleb had other ideas. He wanted no part of standing still, big surprise

Fun in the Sun

Will and I spent the day at the South Hill water park, we went with Kim, Kyler and Maylia. It's not a huge place, but it is pretty fun, the kids certainly had a great time. It was so hot outside though that I think we could have had fun anyplace there was a little water.

Caleb hung out scoping some babes and catching some rays

Maylia and Will tried to teach Caleb to blow bubbles in the water... didn't work out too well. Caleb drank a lot of water today

I tried taking this picture of Caleb and I, but he was much more interested in his pb&j sandwich

Flintstone Feet

Everyone knows Caleb has Fred Flinstone feet... they are as wide and thick as they are long. It's hard to find shoes for him, so all summer he has been wearing his tevas, (the only shoes I can get his feet into) but at least they are cool.

Now checkout the teva tan...
