If you look up tired in the dictionary...

... you would most likely see one of these pictures

Road Trip

On Friday, Mom, Caleb and I set out on a road trip. It was Caleb's first road trip, we tried to make it exciting for him. We headed out to Montana, Hamilton to be exact. Mom bought a new motorcycle and we needed to pick it up.
Our first stop was for breakfast at the 50,000 Silver $ Bar... yes you read right the 50,000 Silver $ Bar. Either the price of silver has gone up or they really tightened up those video poker machines...
Here is a picture of Caleb in St. Regis

Caleb enjoying the sites of Missoula

Here is mom's new bike, isn't it pretty...

leaving Hamilton on our way home,

and finally Caleb in Coeur d'Alene, almost home. It's was a long day

Ironman Update...

We just heard from Team Derby. Mark cross the finish line at 9:42pm. A total time of 14hrs 42min.
CONGRATULATIONS MARK!!

CD'A Ironman 2008

We went to Coeur D'Alene today to watch the Ironman Triathalon. A family friend of ours, Mark Derby, was competing in his frst Ironman event. It was pretty amazing to watch. Apparently there were over 2400 people crazy enough to try this... very impressive, I don't think I could do it. A total of 140.6 miles: 2.4 mile swim (the water was 58 degrees today...yikes), a 112 mile bike ride and then a full 26.2 marathon. WOW

Here is Mary, Mark's wife with her TEAM DERBY t-shirt. We were waiting to catch Mark at the 56 mile mark of the bike ride

Here he is at just over the half way point,

Mark started at 7am this morning with his swim and we saw him at around 4pm when he was transitioning from the bike to the run. It was pretty cool, all of the athletes are PAMPERED by the race staff. The entire race is so organized, and very well run.
When the racers come out of the changing tents, there is a whole group of people to put sunscreen on for them before they start their run. Mike took this video, sorry for the camera work... don't watch if you've been drinking. But it was really neat to see Mark before he set out on his marathon. I think he really enjoyed seeing all of us, I know I would need a cheering section at this point.

This picture was about 2 miles into the run... only 24 to go. Mark is in black suit with the yellow hat.

The day was great, the weather was beautiful. We had so much fun, there was a lot going on and we tried hard to take it all in. Will and his friends had a fun time, running in the park and just being themselves really. Caleb just chilled in his stroller, Mike and I got sunburned, we needed our own sunscreen station. I think I may try and volunteer next year. I have decided that I either want to be a body marker (you write the race numbers on everyone's bodies in the morning) or one of the people who pulls the wetsuits when everyone gets out of the water, or a sunscreen rubber. Apparently you need to sign up early for these jobs, I hear they fill up in January. Wish me luck...

TEETH!

or should I say tooth...Caleb got his first tooth today. It just poked up through the gums this afternoon. He was chewing on my finger last night and nothing, this afternoon he almost bit my finger off.

I know you can't really see it on this picture, but trust me it's there. I dare you to stick your finger in there.

First day of summer vacation

1 day down and 3 months to go!

Will survived his first day of summer vacation... at least i tink he did I hardly saw him all day. He set out on his bike this morning and only showed up for snack breaks. I suppose that's a sign of a good play day.

Will was non-stop today, even after dinner he had Mike outside playing football with him, they were running practice drills.

He also practiced his touchdown dance...

Caleb and Rudy just hung out and watched the whole thing

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Well it's official... Will is a second grader. Doesn't seem possible does it? the boys seemed like they had a great last day of school.

Here is Will, Kyler and Braeden with Mrs Cebriak... She looks ready for summer vacation.

Today was also Kyler's birthday. His mom and I took all of the boys to the park for the afternoon for pizza and basketball. Somehow I ended up with all six boys in the truck with me and Kim had sweet, innocent and quiet Caleb. Not sure how I got the short end of this deal, but the 8 blocks from the school to the park seemed like forever. They found posters from the Shock dance team in the back seat. We ended up with a lively discussion on who's Hot and who's Not!

Caleb enjoyed his afternoon too, gazing into Maliya's eyes... I think he has a crush.

Baseball Game

Finally... a night of baseball and NO rain!

Great last game of the season. Will had a few good hits and an unassisted double play. He caught a pop up to short stop and taggd the runner. So cool! He pitched the last inning of the game. His pitching has improved a lot since the start of the season. He struck out his first batter! He was so proud of himself, of course so was his dad...

A Bug's Life

Last night was the 1st & 2nd grade program at Jefferson: A Bug's Life.

The show opened to rave reviews, it was a limited run, special engagement, one night only special performance. We were fortunate to get tickets...

It was very good. Will's class did a short skit, "A Very Hungry Caterpillar". Will did a great job on his lines. He had practiced for weeks...

The whole thing was so cute. Each class did a song and then a big group number at the end with everyone playing the kazoo. Too funny!!

Now the countdown begins, school is out next Friday the 13th. (does anyone else think that may be a sign) Now if the weather would just cooperate.
