Birthday Boy!!

It's hard to believe that today is Caleb's 1st birthday... it seems like just yesterday we were checking in at the hospital, waiting so anxiously to meet him.

And now he is such a big boy...

they should put a warning label on that...

They don't tell you this when you take it out of the box, but a Wii is dangerous!!

Will and I got into a fairly "spirited" game of Wii air hockey this week. Will was winning, just like he does at every other Wii game. I couldn't let that happen to me again!! I tired to block a shot and I accidentally punched him. I swear it was an accident. I clocked him pretty good, right in the face, knocked him down. I felt soooo horrible, but at the same time I couldn't stop laughing. I mean really, who gets a black eye playing video games?? Will grounded me from the Wii for a few days and I have to promise to try and play a bit nicer from now on

Houdini

Caleb has a new trick... climbing from the crib!! I only discovering the new talent after he missed the landing (first step was a doozie) I heard the thump and found him on the floor in his bedroom. I'm assumed the hardwood floors would hurt to land on, but apparently not... he tried it again later that afternoon.

I've had to turn his crib backwards so he can't get out. It makes it pretty hard to put him to bed at night, but at least he can't come and crawl in with us

just fine in '09

I haven't updated things in a while, sorry no good excuses, I just haven't. We all survived Christmas. A quiet year and it was great. We all loved being a little more 'low-key'. Santa was of course very good to both Will and Caleb, I guess they were better than I thought :).

Will is happily back in school after an extended winter break. (I am even happier :) Seems like we spent most of the time shoveling snow, same as most everyone else in town. I think there were only 2 or 3 days in a three week period that we did not get measurable snow. 80" at last count. Luckily we got a bit of rain and a warm weekend to help melt some of it.

Caleb is closing in on his first birthday, just doesn't seem possible. we are just waiting for him to take off walking. He has taken several steps on his own, he just doesn't realize that he did it. I still can't figure out why we are encouraging the walking stuff... we'll just spend the next 18 years telling him to sit down.

Other than that nothing exciting... same stuff. Mike has been working in town since before Christmas so that's been great. He is getting ready to start working in Clarkston soon. I'm just still on full time Caleb duty and I've started a sort of "walking school bus". I walk Will to school every morning and we seem to pick up a few more kids every day as we get closer to school. I'm also still a full time taxi driver for Will... basketball starts next week :)
