We Survived Hoopfest!

Well the Ladyman's have made it through Hoopfest. It was such a great weekend. Will had a wonderful time, his team was awesome, and the weather was perfect.

The boys won their first two games on Saturday. That was great because they were done playing by 2:00 and they had the whole afternoon to just hang out and enjoy the festivities.

Our team... Thomas Baycroft, Kyler Hillman, Jacob Parola and Will, just after their first game, they won 10-5

Here are the Jaguars after game 2, another win, 10-8!

The games on Sunday morning, didn't go quite our way. The boys lost the first game 12-10. The second game of the morning was actually the best game they played all weekend. The boys did their best as a team... their best shooting, hustle and defense! Unfortunately they lost in overtime 14-13. I don't even like to say that they lost, they were just short two points... it really was a fantastic game. It was really cool to hear parents and fans from the other team congratulating our boys on playing so well and being such good sports. We were all very proud of them. They were great to watch this weekend, so cool to see how much they have improved and matured as a team.

There are other things to do at Hoopfest besides basketball though... ok well maybe not. Really its just a lot of basketball. But it sure was fun.
We saw Kareem Abdul Jabar... We didn't actually talk to him or anything, just took his picture. Mike told him that he loved his work in "Airplane" :)

Watched a little action at the Nike Center Court. David Pendergraff (former Zag) was playing, Will thought it was pretty neat to watch Pendo play.

Will hung out at the Marine Corp Hummer for a bit. I just hope he didn't enlist...

Will took the vertical leap challenge inside the Nike/Hoopfest store... (he has an 18" jump in case you were wondering. Not too bad for an 8 yo.)

And when that became too much... we took a nap, well Caleb did anyway

We survived Hoopfest '09... can't wait for next year.

HOOPFEST!!

Finally Hoopfest weekend is upon us!! The boys have only been waiting for this for 2 years.
The boys' team is the Jaguars. Our first game is Saturday morning at 9:30. They play on the Qdoba #4 court. It is on Main Street, between Howard and Stevens (from the court map it looks to be just in front of Rocky Rococco's Pizza)
If they win, the next game will be at 1:00, if they lose, they'll play at 3:00.
After that, we'll just have to see.
If any one wants to come down to watch, we'll be hanging out all day. I'll have my cell phone (509-863-5419) so just give us a call if you need to know game times.

See you there!!

School's Out For Summer!

Last day of school today... three days late, another reminder of the gross winter we had. Apparently he passed 2nd grade!! That or Ms. Rolando was just done with him and needs to give someone else a chance at him. Either way WILL IS A 3RD GRADER!! yikes...
He was actually pretty sad this morning, he says he will miss Ms Rolando. I think he'll recover pretty quick, probably sometime tomorrow morning when I'm not jumping on his bed to wake him up at 8am.
Well thanks to Ms. Rolando and Mr. Poon for putting up with Will this year...he really did have a great year.

Look at these guys... talk about a motley crew. This could be a looonng summer! :)

St. Regis Camping Trip

We just got home last night from another SUPER FUN camping trip. We planned to meet up with the Zahn's at a little spot just outside of St. Regis. Of course once we made plans the trip grew... as it usually does :) Our little weekend turned into 16 people and a lot of fun.

We didn't do too much, hung out at the little beach at the river, the kids rode their bikes and had water balloon/water gun fights, we ate great food (as always) and just laughed a lot!! All in all a perfect weekend.

Will watched a few movies on our way over...

while Caleb caught up on his reading...

I took this picture of a moose we saw having lunch in Lake Couer d'Alene, not too bad of a picture considering I took it out the truck window at 70mph.

When we had camp all set up the kids started up a water fight. Here is Danielle helping Will to cool off a bit

Since it was so hot Caleb needed to cool off too... with a beer. His uncle Travis was so proud :)
We played in the river a little bit. we couldn't get it too far, partyly because the water was moving pretty fast, but mainly because it was soooo freakin' cold!

And really who thought this is a good idea...?

After an afternoon in the water and a good dinner, we spent a relaxing night chillin' by the fire

Caleb's First Starbucks!

Baseball

Last night was baseball night... finally this year we have perfect baseball weather. Making up for last season. The boys had a great time last night, played really hard and went home tired. What more could you ask for? Will pitched for one inning and did really well, allowed 1 hit, walked 2 batters and struck out 3. He says pitching is his favorite position, he is actually pretty good at it too.

Caleb was a batboy last night, but then he got distracted by a frappaccino

Next game is Thursday night 6pm @ Hutton Elementary... see you there!

First camping trip of the season :)

We took the first trip of the year. Headed up to Round Lake near Sandpoint. It was a super cool spot, close to home, but still not at home :) Small little lake with a sandy beach and a really nice campground. The weather was fantastic, perfect actually! We set up the trailer...

Then headed to the water... so nice. Since it is such a small lake, the water was already warming up, chilly still, but swim-able.

After a little time at the beach, we decided to go for a small hike. Apparently there is a walking trail that goes all the way around the lake, about 4.5 miles. We loaded Caleb in the stroller, we even took Rudy. It really was pretty, nice and shady, all the makings for a lovely evening...

Until, the mosquitoes found us.They were everywhere, and they were HUNGRY. We had never seen anything like it, it was like we were in a horror movie. There were swarms of mosquitoes, hundreds at a time. I have no pictures of them, because I couldn't stand still long enough to get the camera. We had to run the last mile back to our camp just to get away. It was incredible.
I took this picture of my arm, kind of gross really.

Both Mike and I look like this all over, Will and Caleb didn't get bit quite as bad, thank goodness.
Other than the rabid, mutant mosquitoes, the trip was very fun... we are ready to go again, as soon as I get the trailer cleaned and re-stocked and as soon as those damn mosquitoes die.
